BI Series Blowers

Introduction
This manual has been prepared to guide the users of Reversomatic Fans in the proper installation, operation and maintenance procedures to ensure maximum equipment life
with trouble-free operation.

Installation
Blowers should be mounted to rigid flat foundations. Mounting bolts and lock washers should be tightened securely. Shim where foundation is not level.

Pre-Maintenance Operation
1. Check all set screws and belts
2. Check belts and pulley alignments.
3. Check maintenance of set screws and blower wheel.
4. Check tightness of inset screws and motor and fan pulleys.
5. Check tightness on belt tensions.

V-Belt Drivers
It is important that the drives be in good alignment, with motor and blower shafts
parallel. Motor must be adjusted until about ¾" deflection of the belt is noted with
finger pressure in the middle of belt. Small changes in motor adjustment from this
start may be needed for smoothest operation. Belts stretch over a period of time,
and motor should be adjusted to compensate for this.

Warning
Motor overloads are the results of wrong rotation, high voltage or low voltage and, in the case of belt driven units, replacing sheaves that are on the units so that they may overload the motor. The National Electrical Code States that motors located in a manner as those used in Reversomatic Manufacturing units must be protected with an automatic thermal cut-off device that will active when the amperage input to the motor is in excess of the motor nameplate ratings.

Electrical motor bearing lubrication is specified by the manufacturer and instructions are packed with the motor or stenciled on the name plate

CAST IRON PILLOW BLOCKS are used and have grease nipples and should be lubricated once every 3 to 6 months with a minute amount of bearing grease.

Periodic inspection should be made to determinate if the unit is still soundly mounted and the belt is not slipping. Accumulations of dust and oil on the wheel will impair its
Performance and put the unit out of balance. If this occurs, it is necessary to clean the wheel and housing. It is especially dangerous to allow large amounts of oil to accumulate in a system, for this represents a fire hazard.

Defective Motors
Should be returned to the nearest motor manufactures authorized service center if defective within one year. (See telephone classified section or contact Reversomatic Manufacturing Limited).
